CURRENT PROJECTS

 MONITORING OF CAPITATION GRANT AND INCREASING SCHOOL ENROLMENT RETENTION.

This project was assisted/funded by ibis West Africa to promote good governance and transparency on the utilization of the capitation grant. This is an urgent need for parents and the community at large to be given a space to discuss and monitors the package with the school authorities to fulfill the government objectives.

This measure is intended to increase school enrolment and retention and also reduce financial burden on parents.During this monitoring the field team gathering information on planning and budgeting, amount allocated in a quarter, processes involved in accessing grant, mode of disbursement and activity work plans.

CONSTRUCTION OF HEALTH CARE CENTER FOR THE PEOPLE OF ZUO

Between 2005 and 2007, we mobilized resources for the establishment of the Integrated Community Health Centre for the people of ZUO, a rural community in the Tamale Metropolis, which is in the completion and operation level.

Under this project TIDA has established the health centre at ZUO with funding from the French Embassy and the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly. The Ghana Health Service has designated health workers for the health centre, who will also under take training of community health volunteers and traditional birth attendants in the locality

ALLIANCE FOR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RIGHTS

Through our successfully mobilized over 20,000 rural poor people from 15 poor communities in the Nanumba District, and equipped them with the knowledge and skills for improved reproductive health attitudes and practices through the reproductive health project supported by Save the Children, which ended in 2004.

The Royal Netherlands Embassy support to Alliance for reproductive health right and Integrated Social Development Center (ISODEC) assisted us to implement this Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights. The aims of this project are promote quality reproductive health rights to poor and most vulnerable communities in some selected communities in Nanumba North District.

This project include community education on sexual and reproductive health rights, which also include STDs/HIV/AIDs prevention, teenage pregnancy, education of unsafe abortion and contraceptives and also social drama to promote behavioral and attitudinal change toward family planning and HIV/AIDS

The project is gaining remarkable success in the beneficiaries communities and among poor households in the communities. Below is the picture during social drama performance in one of the beneficiaries’ communities

TRAINING AND FORMATION SISTER WATCH AND PARALEGAL COIMMITTEES

 This project was funded by International Federation of women lawyers (FIDA) Ghana for the promotion of women empowerment and rights awareness through this training and formation of sister watch groups and Para legal committees to raised awareness and sensitized the community especially men and women about the existence of human rights laws in Ghana and to provide legal aid services to women who are victims of their rights.Below is the training picture of paralegal and sisters watch groups group
